What is the SAP Program for Truck Drivers?
The SAP program is a substance abuse prevention program created by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The program was designed to help truck drivers reduce their risk of becoming involved in an alcohol-related crash. The goal of this program is to reduce the number of crashes caused by drunk driving and to prevent injuries/deaths related to drunk driving.

How does it work?
The SAP Program consists of three phases: Pre-Employment, Post-Employment and Reasonable Suspicion (or Random). During the Pre-Employment phase, all participants must complete a self-assessment questionnaire and a drug test. If they pass both, they will then move on to Phase 2. Phase 2 includes a pre-employment orientation, annual.
